The Prostate Cancer Protection Plan

As well as being a well-known author, Dr Arnot is also the chief medical correspondent for NBC News. This excellent and thoughtful 352-page paperback , subtitled "The Foods, Supplements, and Drugs That Can Combat Prostate Cancer" offers not only hope but also expert advice for men who not only aleady suffer with prostate cancer but also those who wish to significantly reduce the risk of contracting it in the first place.

It is clearly pointed out that prostate cancer is mainly a nutritional disease. And although westerners have a much higher rate of prostate cancer than Asians, this is nothing to do with genetic factors and everything to do with our diet.

Dr Arnot goes into a lot of detail on how to restructure our diet so as to prevent and, yes, even cure prostate cancer. Such changes include major decreases in our consumption of saturated fats (such as red meat) and also dairy products. His simple program also involves eating soy in its many varieties (such as tofu, milk and soy powder).

Also included in his dietary recommendations are supplements such as the anti-oxidants, Vitamins C and E, and Selenium.
A lot of information is also provided about the well-known PSA test in addition to several backup tests which will overall provide a more reliable resultThe author provides a lot of information about the PSA test. He is the first to recognize that this test is. Some of these badditional tests include those for PSA density, Free PSA, and also using ultrasound.

Detailed advice is also given on the various options available to cure prostate cancer, all backed up by scientific study data. In addition many detailed testimonials are presented both from doctors and cancer sufferers explaining how they manage their own prostate cancer, including the various changes they have made to their lifestyles and nutrition, and which curative path each are following.

From these case studies it is quite apparent that there is no “one cure fits all” solution to treating prostate cancer. There are clearly many options available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. It is very much a decision for each individual based on the many facets of his own lifestyle and health.

However, a thorough reading of this book will do much to put you on the path which is right for you in either reducing your risk of the disease or, if you already suffer from prostate cancer, putting you on the road to recovery. As in all things, preventing the onset of prostate cancer, is clearly the way forward, and this excellent book will provide you with what you need to know to do just that.
